Mama Clay Quote of the Day

(faint sound of a door shutting, which promps me to ask...)
"Sam, where is your ice cream?

(.....long pause.....)

Sam NO!...you can't put your ice cream in the dryer!"

*Side note, Sam is on a major kick of Jell-o Pudding Pops.
He calls them I-Cwane.

"Sam"

Everytime Sam sees a smiley face, he points and says, "Sam!" I don't know where he got it from but I think it's so sweet. I guess they do kinda look alike :)

The King Ranch

For those of you that know my hubby, you know that he is a HUGE outdoorsman to say the least. Recently, he was given the opportunity of a hunter's lifetime...to bow hunt at the legendary King Ranch. One of his brother's friends is a Pro Hunter on the Hoyt Team and he graciously invited the two of them to join him. Although he didn't come home with a Buck (he was asked to only take a management buck), he was given an invitation to come back next year. He took some amazing pictures while in his ground blind.
Here are a few.....
(the fencing you see is actually a fence built around
each feeder to keep the wild pigs from eating the corn. The deer can jump over it but the pigs can't ;)

Sweet little ones...

Jesus said, "Let the Little Children Come to Me".
Mark 10:14
The other night, I was reading books to Sam at bedtime and he started frantically trying to get out of my lap. He was pointing and saying, "Babble, Babble!" I thought he was saying, apple. As I was trying to figure out what in the world he was so insistent on reading, I saw what his sweet little finger was pointing at, it was his Bible. We read through it and on the last page, there is a picture of Jesus holding a little blonde boy. I said, "Where's Jesus?" and he pointed to Jesus. Then I said, "Who is that?" pointing to the little boy in Jesus' arms, and he said, "Sam". Everything about this story makes me cry. To me, it was a reminder of how sweet and innocent little children are, that God loves them even more than we do (even though that doesn't seem possible) and what a responsibility God has entrusted in us as their parent. I am so thankful for that moment.

Great Site

If I haven't told you before, this is a great site....

http://www.e-mealz.com/

I usually use at least one recipe per week from this site. The subscription is only a little over $1 per week. You enter what grocery store you typically shop at and it gives you a shopping list for the week, divided by departments (taking into account what is on sale that week at that store). The recipes are super simple. There is always at least 1 crock pot recipe per week. I've been doing it for a while and I definitely think its worth it. Thought I'd share :)

Our Dating Anniversary

Hubby & I have been dating for 14 years today! That's right, April 1, 1995! We've ALMOST been together as long as we were alive before we starting dating. Make sense? Anyway, I was 16 and he was so old...he was 18 & a big senior! Woo Hoo! Anyway, we've seen each other through a lot...good, bad and ugly but in the end, we haven't been apart since the Cinderella Ball in '95. As cheesy as it sounds, you can ask either of us, we have more love, admiration and respect for each other today than we have ever had before. Love you Buddy!
